Soniya is from an affluent family. She was a ‘normal’ child. However, due to some reason she started being aloof from her friends and family. She withdrew to her room, which led to diminished thinking and poor mental growth.

Her father tried witchcraft to cure his daughter. The practice demanded the appeasement of deities through various forms that were considered immoral. This tore the family apart.

Soniya could not approve of such actions of her father. She became depressed and disturbed. Eventually, she stopped going school. Her father used several methods of exorcism to heal her but nothing really helped. She was brought to Mercy Home by one of our social workers. Here, she was given love and care apart from treatment. Soniya has fully recovered and is now an energetic young girl.
