Disaster Response - Aid and Relief
Help in Time of Adversity
All too often the news is filled with events of devastating effects of natural disasters and calamities that can completely paralyse normal life. It can happen to anyone at any time. CFI Charitable Trust is dedicated to aid people who have been displaced, rendered homeless, wounded or someone who have lost their loved ones.
In the aftermath of a disaster, communities and families are helped with essential relief supplies like food, clothes, bed sheets, warm clothes and toiletries. Our social workers and volunteers are committed to lend a helping hand to those in dire need.
Rehabilitation programs focuses on providing immediate relief to the victims and restoring their lives in the long run so that they are able to stand on their own feet and regain normalcy as quickly as possible.
Medical camps are organized by CFI Charitable Trust to provide medical aid to the victims and those that are susceptible to outbreak of epidemic diseases and help regain good physical and mental health.
CFI workers gather together as a unit to help the helpless when disaster strikes. CFI workers also mobilises local support to assist the needy to restore their normal life as effectively as possible.


Kerala flood - House construction - web content

Kerala saw one of its worst rains mid-July to August, 2018 which wreaked havoc in 14 districts of the state. The destruction was unsurmountable with 483 people losing lives and over14 missing. The Kerala government states that over one-sixth of the population affected by one of the worst floods in a century.

CFI Trust set its best foot forward and helped over 11,000 with necessary aids such as food packets, toiletries, vegetables, utensils, school bags for kids. Of these one of the most impacting effort was to renovate and construct houses for three families.

Life of Siji and his family took a harrowing turn when their house, collapsed in the Kerala floods. This house was their ancestral property and with water flooding inside the houseand damaging the house completely, the family was devastated. CFI Trust pledged to build house for the family. The house construction started immediately after the waters receded. A newly constructed 3 bed room, hall, kitchen and toilet bath room was handed over to the family in April, 2019. Apart from this Siji and family, received every furnishing required for the house from CFI Trust.

Similarly, Manu and his family were blessed and completely overjoyed to receive help to furnish house during the mammoth flood. Another resident Kannanand family were in much despair when the overall flooring of Kannan’s house was completely damaged in the flooding water. The house could not be used any further. CFI Trust helped Kannan by repairing and renovating the house, also constructed toilet to make the house liveable.
